The Global India Business Forum team was privileged to meet H.E.Gilbert Shimane Mangole, High Commissioner of the Republic of Botswana to the Republic of India. Founder and Global President Dr. Jitendra Joshi of GIBF, Co-Founder and Director - Global Operations, Deepali Gadkari shared about GIBF's objectives and initiatives in promoting the MSME sector and enhancing bilateral trade among India and other countries. The High Commissioner, while accepting the Honorary Membership of GIBF, appreciated the initiatives and agreed to facilitate mutual investment, trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Botswana, officially the Republic of Botswana, is a landlocked country in Southern Africa. It has a landscape defined by the Kalahari Desert and the Okavango Delta, which becomes a lush animal habitat during the seasonal flood. The population of Botswana as of July 2024 is 2.719 million and the capital of Botswana is Gaborone. The official language spoken in Botswana is English and the currency used is ‘pula’ also known as Botswana dollar. A major part of the population practices Christianity religion. Botswana gained its independence from the United Kingdom on September 30, 1966, and celebrates the day as a national holiday called Boipuso.
Botswana is a member of WTO, GATT, OACPS, the African group, Land-locked Developing Countries, G-90, G-33.
