The Brest Free Economic Zone (FEZ), which was created in 1996 and spans three locations in
Brest strategically situated on the Polish border, is the first of its kind in Belarus. It
covers an area of 71 kmĀ². This region has many benefits, such as quick access to markets in
the EU, CIS, and EEU, as well as a sophisticated transportation network that encompasses
air, sea, and land connections. Because of the Brest FEZ's lower tax rates, preferential
customs treatment, and legal protections, enterprises from 20 different nations operate
there. This draws both foreign and Belarusian investors. In keeping with the zone's
dedication to both social responsibility and economic development, the Brest FEZ also funds
social projects like OJSC "Brestmash," which manufactures customized vans with lifts for
those with impairments. The current head of the Brest FEZ Administration is Mikhail
Samolazov, who plays a key role in overseeing these initiatives and fostering investment in
the region.
