The Head Of Education, Economic & Investment Affairs of the Embassy of Mexico, Mr Adriana Villanueva Becerril accepted the Honorary Membership of Global India Business Forum, in the presence of Global President Dr. Jitendra Joshi Global coordinator Ms Deepali Gadkari. Realizing the strengths of Global India Business Forum and the Consulate of Mexico and conscious of the benefits to be derived by both organizations and its members through this mutual understanding, both parties will be associated with each other in mutual cooperation to facilitate mutual investment, trade and economic cooperation complimented by knowledge sharing, training, certification and networking.

Mexico, officially known as the United Mexican States, is a country situated in the Southern portion of North America. The country shares its borders with other countries and oceans like the USA, the Pacific Ocean, Guatemala, Belize, the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. Mexico has a total land area of 19,72,550 sq. km. and the population of the country as of 2020 stands at 12,89,32,753. Mexico is also the most populous Spanish-speaking nation. The capital of Mexico is Mexico City and is also the largest city. Other major cities of the country are Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla, Tijuana, Toluca, Ciudad Juarez and Leon. The official and national language of Mexico is Spanish and the major religion practiced in the country is Christianity. Mexico won its independence from the Spanish rule in the year 1821 through the Mexican War of Independence. Mexico is considered as a developing country with the USA being its largest economic partner. The large economy, population and politics have made Mexico not only a regional power but also a middle power as well. Mexico has a large number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and is an ecologically megadiverse country due to its vast biodiversity. Mexico is also a member of the United Nations, the WTO, the G8+5, the G20, the Uniting for Consensus group under the UN and the Pacific Alliance trade bloc.


Since Mexico is widely known for its vast and beautiful biodiversity, along with historic and renowned sites listed under the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the country attracts a large number of tourists across the world. And hence, one of the main sources of income for the country is the tourism sector. This sector can create a lot of business and investment opportunities for other countries interested in investing in Mexico’s tourism. About four-fifth of Mexico’s total petroleum is exported to the USA, thus making Mexico a prime destination for other countries to invest in its oil and petroleum sector. Thus the oil and petroleum sector becomes a source of attracting a lot of business opportunities for other countries.

Exports of Mexico increased by 2.3% to $38,320 million in the month of November 2020; whereas, the imports of the country fell by 3.9% to $35,288 million in the month of November 2020.


The top exports of Mexico are manufactured products like metallic products, machinery and equipment, oil and related products, electrical and electronic appliances, agriculture and mining products and automobiles. The main export partners of the country are the USA, Canada, Germany, China, etc..
