ABOUT KAZAKHSTAN

The Republic of Kazakhstan, or simply called Kazakhstan, is a transcontinental country which is located in Central Asia, with some part of the country in Western Europe. It is also the largest landlocked country in the world, with a land area of 27,24,900 sq. km. Kazakhstan is said to be the most dominant country in the Central Asia region as the country generates nearly 60% of the region’s GDP and hence has a major influence on other countries in this region through its oil and gas industries.Kazakhstan shares its borders with countries like Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. It also has a large part of the Caspian Sea in its territory. The imports of Kazakhstan increased from $2811.50 million in May 2020 to $3556.30 million in the month of June 2020. On the other hand, the exports of the country decreased from $3953.40 million in May 2020 to $3151.50 million in the month of June 2020. The country is among the strongest performing economies in the world which can be seen in its trade too.

The main imports of the country are electronics, machinery, mineral products, etc. Electronics and machinery imports account for 25% of the total imports of the country. And the country’s main import partners are Russia and China, followed by the USA and Italy.

The main exports of the country are oil and gas as the country holds a stronghold in these industries as compared to other countries in Central Asia. Other main exports include copper, zinc, uranium, etc. The main export partners of the country are Italy, China, the Netherlands, Russia, etc.
